Drunken Oranges with Honey Yogurt Cream

drunkenoranges

I absolutely love this dessert!  It is so easy to make, very impressive and tastes amazing!

Hints & Tips

  • Triple Sec is an orange flavored liqueur used in cocktails.  You can use any brand.  If you want something stronger (and more expensive!), you can use Cointreau or Grand Marnier liqueurs.
  • The longer you marinate the oranges in Triple Sec, the better the taste!  I have often marinated the oranges for over 2 days.
  • If you want a sweeter cream, add more honey!
  • GF, Veg.

Ingredients

  • 6 Navel Oranges, Peeled, Segmented, As Much Pith Removed
  • 500 milliliters Triple Sec Orange Liqueur
  • 1 cup Fresh Orange Juice
  • 2 cups Sugar
  • 300 milliliters Yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons Honey

Instructions

  1. Cut each orange segment in half and place in a bowl. Pour over the Triple Sec and mix well. Cover and refrigerate for at least 24 hours.
  2. Gently heat up the orange juice and sugar and stir until sugar has dissolved. Bring to a boil and simmer for 5 minutes without stirring. Allow to cool.
  3. Pour the orange syrup over the oranges and mix well. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
  4. Mix the yogurt and honey together until creamy.
  5. Serve oranges in a bowl with a dollop of honey cream!
