I think I found this recipe on the internet somewhere – I love the marinade – it tastes amazing with the strawberries!
Hints & Tips
- This dessert can be served as it is or with thick cream.
- Pinot Noir is a very light red wine – if you do not have Pinot Noir, only try it with a similar lighter style of red – anything heavier will be over powering.
- It improves with age so can be left for 2-3 days in the fridge.

Ingredients
- 4 Punnets of Strawberries, Washed, Hulled and Cut into Halves
- 12 tablespoons Caster Sugar
- 1 teaspoon Cinnamon Powder
- 4 cups Pinot Noir
- 8 teaspoons Fresh Lime Juice
- Thick Cream to Serve
Instructions
- Mix the sugar, pinot noir and cinnamon until well combined and sugar has partially dissolved.
- Stir in the lime juice. Add the strawberries and refrigerate until ready to serve.
- Serve as it is or with thick cream.
